Short Term Team Visit

A significant way our Volunteers get involved is by joining a Kingdom Inroads group that goes on a short term team visit to one of our communities. Check out “Upcoming Events” at the bottom of this page to see upcoming short term teams visits and the training available to prepare you for it.
Short term team size and duration of visit vary, but typically consist of up to 10 people who stay between 4-10 days. A team will stay in or near the community and engage in activities, which can be tailored to the interests of the group and the needs of the community.
The activities in a visit include a combination of the following:
- A community development service component, for example, lending hands to construct new facilities, refurbish existing ones, providing basic medical and nursing care, conducting vocational workshops, and training in and facilitating the implementing of appropriate transformation activities.
- Mercy works, such as in an orphanage, children home, or cooking for the needy.
- Social interaction with folks in the community, relating through games and sports, and teaching language, arts and craft.
- Fellowship activities, such as participating in worship, sharing a message or testimonies, presenting music and drama items.
- Outreach to adults and families in the community, meeting with families in their homes, prayers for healing and other needs.
- Training and equipping of specific groups, such as youths, pastors and leaders.
- Sight-seeing and cultural excursions.
